earth size
is 16mm the right size for the main battery earth strap, i need to replace mine, its the original braided unsheathed.

16mm2 is around 110amps and as the starter on a petrol engine T25 can draw between 125 - 160 amps then 16mm isn't heavy enough......on a Diesel the starter can draw over 190 amps.
Therefore the braided earth cable needs to be 25mm2 on a petrol (170amps) and even heavier on a Diesel (30 - 35mm2) (205 - 240amps) ...these are rough guides.

bugger, bought a 16mm strap!!
fortunately its too long, so looks like getting doubled up!
going to drill a new hole and use a TEK screw to get a good connection as well.
