Have got a really bad oil leak on my 1900cc petrol engine. It looks like its coming out of the bell housing.I've been told it could be the crank oil seal. If so how hard is it to do? Is it an engine out job? Or could it be leaking from some were else? Need to sort it quick so any help would be appreciated.

Re: Bad oil leak HELP!!!!
I've had to replace the oil pressure switch a couple of times on my 1.9 dg, that usually announces its failure in a very messy way...but at least it is easy and cheap to fix. Hope yours is too

Re: Bad oil leak HELP!!!!
If the oil stinks, it'll be the gearbox input shaft seal (gearbox out), if it seems like engine oil, it'll be flywheel oil seal which means, although fairly easy to do, its not a job you can do without engine on the floor. If I ever take an engine out, I change that seal regardless. An annoying job, but plod on and you'll get it sorted.
