knackered ignition switch pics

I'm glad you followed the suggestions from the club possee. When that switch starts breaking down it creates a whole range of weird effects and it is so cheap to replace. Excellent news. Happy camping.

Itd be great if there was a higher quality option for these switches. Mine went ages ago and caused me a lot of head scratching and money on ignition parts I didn't need. All i actually needed was this £4 part...

Interestingly, the SAME switch fitted to just about everything VW/Audi around that time....Polo's/Golf's/Jetta's/Audi 80/Sirocco/Passat's etc
Like everything else, they were never intended to last 25 years so I guess they really weren't a weakness as such.
At under £9.00, definitely worth fitting as a 'first fix' for many of the more common intermittent starting problems but also worth having one as a 'spare'.
