Whats involved in fitting a new roof panel complete?
Is it spot welded around the gutter and is that the best place to split? Or cut off pillars to match where the replacement roof was cut off?
I would be worried about the windows especially the wind screen and doors not fitting doing it that way.
Anybody done it?

Re: Fitting a new roof?
drill the spots and remove the upper skin - what are you changing from/to ?
grind the welds, drill the new skin and puddle or spot it if you have the technology
I think,
Mike will be along shortly...............

Re: Fitting a new roof?
My van must of had a pop top at some time but now as a very crude plate welded over it.
I have seen a full roof section with the large steel sun roof which I like.

there's a thread in bodywork about 18 months ago where Jon youthleygiblet fitted the big sunroof roof to his panel van, you buy the roof cut off at with a few inches of pillar then disassemble then reassemble on the new van - he had access to spot welder
big sunroofs are cool
