As requested, here is a cut and paste of the thread. I have had to add the pics to a pbucket album as they won't cut and paste.
I regrettably have to sell our Camper to help finance our new business we are just starting up, but there is definitely another Syncro waiting for me in my future. But for now the toys must go

I believe this one was also built by Cocks in Capetown somewhere for a UK couple. One of a kind
It is a 1989 Caravelle with the wbx Oettinger motor in it. The van now has just over 120,000km on the clock and runs like a clock

. Mechanically she is very smooth and everything works except for the air-con ,needs gas and could have a leak.
It now has 15 inch mags on and two front tires has about 1500 km on with the rears about 3000 km.
I bought it 4 years ago and did only a couple of trips ,total of about 10,000 km`s ,with her.
On these trips along the west-coast and Natal south and north coast it ran trouble free and gives a steady 6 kml.
The Oettinger pulls strong and cruising at 100 kmh is no problem .
The exterior needs a paint job and the interior also needs some TLC although only cosmetic .
She has electric windows.
Here are few pics as an appetizer. I will send more pics if you are interested.

.
Mechanically the van is in good shape.
I have no service history other than that I got the van on 112000km about 3 years ago and had it checked out by a old vw mechanic that did his time on the Syncro`s when they where built.
He did a complete oil change ,engine and drive train,a complete water change with the correct anti freeze.
All the water hoses and V belts where replaced and the old one are there for spare.
I have a new rotor, distributor cap, plug wires and plugs to go with the van.
He gave the mechanical side of the car a thumbs up and it showed just that for the next 10,000 km`s .
We only did a few trips ,all to remote places like the West Coast Echo Trail, Richtersveld and the Kwazulu North coast Etc.
We had not one single hickup on our trips.
The Van is old and needs some TLC on the cosmetics in and out, I recon 20k wil make it look new and will be more capable than most of today`s 1mill vans.
This is a aluminum body. The interior needs some tlc..It has

The Car.
1.It is a 1989 Caravelle chopped and built into a van by Cocks in C/T.
2.The engine is the original factory engine , 4cyl flat-wbx (water cooled) engine with 126,819 genuine km on the clock. Only mod is the factory fitted Oettinger big bore kit, this makes it a 2.6Liter,I think. It runs like a clock with lots of torque and very smooth and very quiet.
3.One small oil leak on the oil filler pipe ,needs a R10 "O" ring and 30 min labor.
4.No other oil leaks on the engine or drive train..
5.The gearbox is smooth..
6. Low range Granny gear and 4 more forward.
7.Prop-shaft runs true without any vibration.
8.Clutch feels good.
9.Front Viscous drive work as it should.
10. C v joints still quite.
11.It has 2 X 40 Liter long range fuel tanks under body, one o each side with fuel transfer pump.
12.And of course has diff lock front and back.
Any more question welcome.
