Water tank drain "cock"

Delilah had a leak in the draining "cock" on the fresh water tank that is suspended under the bus on the passenger side. My DH decided to remove said tap as the washer behind it was clearly stuffed (that's where the leak is), but now he can't get it back in as the nut inside the water tank orifice is spinning round and won't grip the tap. How do we get at the water tank innards - there doesn't seem to be any access from inside the bus under the rock n roll bed, although the pump and pipes are are under there (the pipes seem to go throughthe floor?).

Hopefully this is not a jack it up and take it all off from underneath jobbie otherwise it will have to go to our lovely T25 friendly mechanic

I can't tell you for certain but on the aftermarket water tanks there's an inspection cap on the top of the tank ... so drop the tank down and it may be there on the top. You may need someone with slender arms to get hold of the nut, I can't get my forearm in our's and had to rely on the services of a junior operatif

Thanks Ian. We suspected it was a drop it down jobbie as there seems to be no means of accessing it from above. The pipes leading to the water pump located under the rock n roll bed go off through the floor with no sign of an access hatch and run along the underside of the bus to the tank.

I think we may have to visit our lovely Steve the mechanic as Delilah is lowered and my bosom and Al's belly prevent either of us being able to shuffle underneath with enough room free to undo the nuts that hold the cage on the bus. He has both a pit and a lift and also the headroom to get Delilah's hi-top in the garage so it looks like a trip to Llanwrda is on the cards! I need to go that way anyway to talk to a body repair man about removal and replacement of a slightly rotten panel so I can do both at the same time.
