Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
I've snapped the white pipe spigot off the brake vacuum unit today when lifting the lump back in the van, can't find the spigot by itself so I take it the only option is a new unit or repair (glue?) the broken one, has anyone glued on here.

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
I had a similar problem. I punched out the old valve from the top plate of the vacuum pump, welded a pipe spigot on to the plate, lapped the plate flat with a file, then bought a generic non return valve from JK, and plumbed it in using a short length of vacuum hose. Works fine.

1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
Nice alternative to a new unit 'colinthefox' , been offered one now but will still have a crack at glueing the old one just in case.

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
I made an insert for mine on the Lathe - assuming you'd have access to one.
Made it a tolerance fit and ran a bead of glue round it for good measure

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
New one I've bought has a different top plate, not able to elongate the bolt holes as it will encroach on the actual opening so now going to go down the "colinthefox" route I think ?

Looks like we will have to get together with all spanish owners to get job lots sent over for parts required (or find decent slf help scrapyards loaded with T25's)

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
Out of interest "colinthefox" is this the item you welded to the top and did you cut the existing raised part that houses the valve right off ?

Re: Snapped brake vacuum spigot.
Hah, this must be catching, I managed to snap mine yesterday, that's going to be a PITA to fix.
As I understand it, this provides vacuum for the brake servo, yes? Does it create a vacuum for anything else?
Can I use the van without it, just for the purposes of moving a trailer about 50 metres then park it up?
