AAZ Air box ducting to turbo.

Post by Custom & Bespoke »

Hi, just installed the AAZ lump and used original air filter box in original position and the pipe from turbo up to the box now will not fit, does any one have any pics of what they have done to overcome this, I have actually cobbled together a system using a pipe from the golf the aaz come from but it does run right next to the exhaust so a heat shield will now be needed. Just want to check I'm on the right track, cheers.

Either I've totally missed something and cocked it up or it has to be adapted anyway, but it was a good 3" out from fitting the air filter housing.

Are you using the aaz exhaust manifold?
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

I have the brickwerks stainless exhaust on an AAZ with JX Airbox, but I had to remanufacture the exhaust hangers on the back of the engine to fit. I used some inch box section galv from memory with new rubber mountings. Also the gearbox to turbo bracket was custom by the previous owner.
E D I T I do have the brickerks triangular exhaust bracket near the tail pipe end that seamed to fit OK.

Ok, thanks for that, at least I know I'm on the right track and haven't done much wrong. I have installed the exhaust as per normal so will see how well my pipework does and go from there, many thanks for the replies to all. :ok
