Windscreen Seal

Post by StephanieG »

Need to replace my shattered windscreen, does anyone know if the strip that sits in the seal has a function, or is it just decorative? :?

Yes - it creates pressure on the seal making it err, seal.

Yep, the strip helps lock the seal in, as well as providing a decorative finish on Caravelles. There has long been a fad of de-chroming since the advent of the 'Cal' look but personally I like the chrome trim - matches the chrome bumpers.

Thats brilliant...thanks for your help :)
The screen is being replaced by autoglass who can't get hold of a another strip but had planned to reuse the seal thats there already saying it wasnt needed anyway, so your feedback has been very informative :)...excuse my ignorance but am I right in thinking if they replace the seal as well problem solved?
