Hi all,
i want to take the dash out to fix some rust and replace the fan but can't work out how to remove the cold start lever. Can somebody tell me how to remove it.

I seem to remember if you pull the lever out there is a metal band/clip on the shaft you need to remove this.

The cable is held in the handle piece with a nipple, you have to withdraw the handle far enough to access this. Undo the cable at the pump and ensure that the cable isn't bent (otherwise it will be difficult to push back) and just pull the handle till you can reach and remove the nipple then you can undo the outer thus permitting the dash movement. Make sure that you have rags under the pump end to catch the solderless nipple if you should accidentally dislodge it.
