rear westfalia window

Hi all

My van has the plastic "double glazed" westfalia windows and the rear one has a crack on the inside panel. I've serached for replacement ones but had no luck. Have any of you any ideas as to what I can do to sort it? I'm not bothered about replacing like for like tbh, a glass one would do.

If a glass one'll do, then just any ol' glass one from a standard factory windowed tailgate will fit just fine.
If you want to stay double-glazed, but don't want to repair, then dig deep for a new one from Gunzl.

How big's the crack in your inner pane? Our rear's been changed from double-glazed to glass, and you can really feel a chill down that end - to the point that we've got a silver thermal windscreen cover wedged inside the curtains. If it might be even vaguely repairable, I could be tempted to take it off your hands...

The last owners used to do a lot of fishing and it looks like a rod tube or something like that has been rammed into it. Its broken in like a star shape. There's none of it missing just all cracked. If they cost that much I'll just clear tape it or something

You can separate the inner skin of the window and cut a new bit from perspex and glue it back to the outer skin. You got to be real careful but it can be done.

I'd read up on cutting 3mm perspex.. it can get expensive if done wrong

Are they grey or brown? I have a pair of brown ones if you need replacements. There is pics in the for sale section.

Get some solvent weld (liquid adhesive) and using a syringe carefully apply some to the cracks - you should find that capillary action draws it into the cracks. It dries colourless, and when it does it should at least have stuck everything back together. It won't make your cracking disappear but it should be a better option than tape.
