I thought this was a wind up and then I saw your occupation....Engineer at a MoT test station?!?

Ignoring the fact the size is a mahoosive 118mm smaller than the standard tyre....77 load rated tyres are designed for something that weighs the same as a Peugeot 106....not a 2 ton van!

Re: steel wheels help
Not wanting to hijack a thread, but would these be OK on standard steelies?
Anyone tried them?

(Conti VanCo2 195/75 14C)
But why not get 195/80 14C - the standard size? All you'll do there is knock the speedo out a bit and reduce the gearing slightly, so for the same road speed you'll be revving a bit higher.
OK, there's a price difference - less than four quid a tyre... but 195/80 14C is a more common size, so if ever you need to replace one, you're in with a better chance.
As for the VanCo2 - we've got 'em on at the mo. They're good. Can't tell on wear yet, but I've had Contis on cars wear a chunk more quickly than Michelins for no real other benefit. Probably not enough difference to justify the extra £30 each for Michs, though. Definitely worth the extra over the Maxxis or Matador cheapies we had before.

185R14C is the standard size....195/75/14C's are only 6mm smaller so any change in speedo reading or gearing wouldn't really be noticable.

Re: steel wheels help
Cheers fellas,
just trying to get the most tyre without going daft on the original steelies.
If I can get the 195/70s I'll give em a go.
Fanx!

Why 195/70's?

They will alter the gearing/speedo reading as they are 25mm smaller than standard.
