Noticed this when I was checking something in the engine bay.
I have ordered a new bellhousing inspection cover.

Indeed...originally it would have been a complete ring with a flip over bung to block the hole, removed to access timing marks but is obviously showing it's age lol.

Yes definately looks as though it has been broken for a while. I assume that you just unscrew it or is it a push in type?

The bit you can see screws into the bell housing, the flip over bung (the missing bit) pushes into the hole in the middle.
It's purpose is to block the inspection hole but it is not essential.
