Re: tidy camper??????/
I agree with both comments so far. There is a huge amount of waffle and the usual 'reluctant' sale (every sale involves a sob story) blurb. Oettinger always gets the mouth watering, but no proof that what you have is Oettinger even he says that having first drawn buyers in with the bait.
The engine number is just below the bottom of the oil filler pipe (rub away the muck to see it). My old DF engine (which is the slowest of the wbx engines)will take me to 70mph without a problem and 75mph if I need to so the Oettinger selling point sounds iffy and seems to be the justification and a diversion for asking an outrageous price for one of these. If you do think you want to buy, why not suggest to the 'reluctant' seller that you will bring somebody with you to test the vehicle out for you and see what they say.
If it was Oettinger and the whole van was in perfect condition mechanically and bodywise and inside, I would be prepare to pay £9K but no more. Personally I would never buy any vehicle on eBay. It is a scammers paradise. Beware!

2wd fair enough but a very good condition Syncro with the drive chain in GWO is worth quite a bit more than 9k IMO. But at the moment it is very much a buyers market. I would like to see more pics before commenting on its actual condition.
I would never buy a vehicle without seeing and paying cash in person. So the fact that it is advertised on eBay wouldn't put me off.

Re: tidy camper??????/
I bought my van after seeing it on Ebay......asked questions first followed by telephone conversations and finally a viewing and test drive...the deal was done "off of Ebay". The site was just used as a cheap form of advertising, removing from Ebay before the final sale saved the seller the Ebay final value fee. I have also bought through Auto trader, the process was much the same there too.
I would look to buy from this forum if ever I was to replace mine now but when one comes up on Ebay that matches your wish list you would be mad not to at least contact the seller and arrange a viewing........
Just my tuppence worth......

Re: tidy camper??????/
I've seen this van in person and it is indeed very tidy and original.
IIRC it is owned by a lady that has something to do with a well known camping magazine and the LPG conversion was recently carried out by Andrew Simmonds at The Camper Shack.
I know Andrew has spent more time under/around it so for an honest appraisal anyone interested might be able to glean more from him.
From my experience of it I would say it is a lovely bus - just needs that horrid sticker off the door and some better wheels and tyres.
