dash clock lights

hi my dash lights have stopped working i have power to the dimmer switch but unsure where it goes from there they was working till fitted new stereo as the was one wire which was unsure where it goes as it was a brown wire but when tested seemed to be a earth has any one got a wiring diagram for 1986 t25 1.6 diesel

The Germans favoured brown for earth rather than black but since so much wiring gets changed and people don't always stick to logical colours that one you found could be related to anything so I wouldn't ground it without checking. If you can find where it goes to, you can at least narrow it down. Often its the plug on the back of the dashpod that causes interior lights to play up though.

the main plug that goes to the dash has 3 wires that are live but unsure which one powers the dash lights ?

It's the grey/blue wire.
