Can't find anyone to replace my Devon canvas, Southampton

Hi,

I live in Southampton and have a lovely t25 pop top conversion.
I had some work done to the engine recently which was brilliant but need to replace the canvas on my pop top as it started leaking over the winter (and in all honesty should have sorted it last summer...)

I've called loads of fitters and vw garages etc but am struggling to find anyone who will replace the canvas. I can source one from Proudtopop just need someone to fit it.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

do it yourself. It is not that hard. I am in soton if you need help. Have you got the new canvas?

To be honest had thought about it but the rivets etc put me off. You reckon it's relatively easy to do?

I haven't ordered it yet as wasn't sure if fitter would want to order himself. In which case I 'll get on with ordering it and massive thank you for your offer of help, will definitely give you a shout when it arrives

Where abouts in Southampton are you? Rivets are better as you do not have a drill/screwdriver to slip with; that is why I opted for them.

its an easy diy job to do we did ours in a day no bother, just fix the section to the top first.

The proudtopop canvasses are just cheap plastic imho. Tried on 2 separate vans to fit these and I find they are just not up for the job.. Dont know other people's experience but my own.

I have a pround to pop jobie and it is spot on. The plastic is really thick and it fit perfectly. Plastic is the way to go as I have a roof vent so no need for it to breathe.

billybigpud: I'm in West End, just by the rose bowl. you should be able to spot the sunburnt face from a lovely bank holiday weekend outside in Archie! If it's OK i'll give you a shout once I have the canvas and if you're free that would be awesome

No probs. I am only in Bishopstoke so 10 mins from you. Screwfix is only down the road so easy to get replacement rivets.
