Re: thermostat housing replacement 1.9 dg
Year ? There are early and late types ... plastic is late.
Best hint is get the full fitting kit, renew the sensor O-rings and replace the metal hairgrips with the later plastic type.
Oh and don't over-tighten it
Ian
PS there is a technical forum ... post there instead of Gen Chat as it saves the Mods moving all your threads around

Re: thermostat housing replacement 1.9 dg
yes it did,the only thing is i snapped a bolt in the threaded part so i am just hoping i will get away with one bolt and a lot of instant gasket to to secure the new thermostat, carnt see it though but worth a try even if it just gets me to a garage to drill it out.might have ago myself first just abit awkward to get at it though.cheers daveIan Hulley wrote:Well, just so long as my post helped you

Early or late system (add the year of the van to your signature ) personally I don't believe 1 bolt will suffice at all.

Re: thermostat housing replacement 1.9 dg
I had the same problem last year [early housing], managed to drill it out and then scrape the remains of the thread out. As said before i wouldn't like to risk it without all the bolts.
