Distributor cap shock

Distributor cap shock

I was just making sure all the leads off the distributor cap were pushed on tight
and i got quite a shock of one of the leads
is this normal
the engine was off no key in ignition.

you won't be touching that again without a glove on then
I have had a few myself.. we never learn

That's a bit weird. Are they always live?

If the coil hadn't dumped its it's voltage into the plug then there's always a chance
