Got a van at work.
A T3 TDI.
When its cold, if you rev it hard it cuts out.
It then won't start.
It cranks over as if there is no compression.
Leave it 5 minutes and try again and it starts and runs fine.
Also a tad smokey from cold, blue smoke, just a haze but there none the less.
Anyone else reckon oil pressure could be a factor and the hydraulic tappers are getting jacked open?
Anyone ever actually managed to find any data about oil pressure relief valves on the JX or 1Z?
Think I'm going to stick a oil pressure gauge on it tomorrow to see what's going on.
At first I thought jt was fuel supply.
Weird TDI occurrence.

Re: Weird TDI occurrence.
I have seen the oil filter burst due to stuck plunger following a piston melting..oil pressure was 7 bar at idle...rev up and tappets jacked up and filter burst or blew seal out...messy!
