Diesel "Expansion" tank ?
Getting the van ready for the long summer ahead of us I found under the floor beneath the drivers seat a tank which for some reason I have never noticed before (bit embarrased about it actually). It is next to the fuel filling pipe. All the rubber hoses had perished and not being able to operate on it yet I was just wondering if I will have to drop the fuel tank to replace them or will I be able to reach in above the tank wherever the pipes terminate ? (I have very skinny arms)

Is it all the pipes on the breather tank that have perished?
I've just replaced the pipes on my breather tanks without dropping the petrol tank, however the perished ones were only short lengths that were easy to reach.
Take care when replacing the pipe that goes onto the Float valve (on top of tank) the plastic tube easily breaks as I've found to my detriment.
There is a brilliant diagram on the WIKI that shows all the relevant pipes etc in great detail.
