Quick question about wiki timing on dg

Post by jamesandtheopenroad »

Just looking at the advance timing curve on the wiki - https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Pe ... nce_curves - and wondered whether the advance checks were with or without xthe vacuum advance plugged. Any one know?

ignition timing 5°±1° BTDC without vacuum see note at bottom of page
ignition advance checks 0°-2° @ 1500RPM w/o vacuum and basic timing (0-1 @1160)
10°-14° @ 2400RPM w/o vacuum and basic timing (13-17 @2400)
24°-28° @4200RPM w/o vacuum and basic timing (24-28 @4200)
vacuum advance range 12°-16° engine degrees
idle speed 900±50 RPM

If it has digital idle stabilization then connect the two plugs together.
There were two distributers fitted to DG's..later specs in brackets.

Thanks Martin,

Just to check those advance timings, are they plus the bdtc? So for example, 10-14 is 15-19 degrees?

Sorry, been drinking. I meant the 5 degrees btdc.

So for example 10-14 degrees at 2400rpm + 5 btdc, equalling 15-19 degrees total advance at 2400rpm?

Hope that makes sense.
