CT wiring help please

Post by dammo666 »

Hi all,

Just purchased a s/h turnkey for my bus. My problem is that my original has been converted to twin webbers, but I want to use the 34 pict4 4 thats on the engine. Where does the feed come from to the two connectors for the carb, there are wires connected but I cant work out there source. And what connections should be to the coil please? There are a couple of random wires hanging around, but I cant work out what there for or where they go.

any help would be apretiated, thanks

Damion.

The carbs wire just connect to the ignition switched side of the coil terminal +15, best put a picture up of the spare wires or at least their colours.

Hello,

Photos please... :?

Does the 'new' engine have a distributor on..if so, does it have 1 or 2 'spouts' sticking out of the dizzy vacuum canister. :?: :?:

Do you have the 'hall effect' amplifier and black box on the lhs of the engine bay.. :?:

Cordialement,

:ok

Thanks for reply, wiring as follows =
My main concern is blue from coil to oil sender( I believe this comes from engine bay already)
And floating black from ECU, I have a feeling it goes to the coil + side.

Dissy has two vacuume pipes

piccys to follow

From ECU thing
Brown to earth
G/W – G
BR/W – BR/W
R/BLK – R/BLK all three go to distributer (idle control removed)
Olive to coil minus side
Black floating ?

Coil + side
Red split to choke
Blue to oil pressure sender ?

many thanks,

Dissy has two vacuume pipes

From ECU thing
Brown to earth. Correct
G/W – G
BR/W – BR/W
R/BLK – R/BLK all three go to distributer (idle control removed). Correct
Olive to coil minus side. Correct
Black floating ? Goes to the live side of the coil +15

Coil + side
Red split to choke. Correct although originally it would be black wires.
Blue to oil pressure sender ? The oil pressure sender should be a blue/black wire coming out of the loom not connected to the coil.

Great thanks,

I agree the oil sender is blue/black and comes from wiring, not coil or control unit and is already present in bus. Its just the blue from coil to oil sender that is a problem, I think i will disconnect it. carb, dissy, earth and coil all connected so I think I have covered them all.

Looking again, the blue is tapped around the red to the carbs, maybe and attempt to supply both terminals seperately?

thanks again.
