Hi. So what is the best way to clean yer jets and.. on the 34Pict-4, in the float bowl, what are the two pronged ones called. Are they jets and how do you get at them.
My mechanic, who will remain nameless now a I have burned that bridge, has given me back my refurb carb at great expense, not on my enine, so I am back to square one. However I do have a very good conditioned carb but obviously the fule is not getting through. How can i test a carb without putting on an engine so I don't loose out financially next time.
How easy is it to repalce a carb, and if it is faulty - test it, and then replace it. How do you tune a carb and test it for emissions?
Tall order. Who's the man with all the answers please!
Steve
ps I am at a point where I am sitting in a dark room crying. A grown man should not have to go through this on his own.

Now that is exaggerating a bit.....
Cos I've just been doing a Briggs and Stratton...
So you want your carb sorted and set up on a CT with the emissions set and all the palaver....
OK, pack it up carefully and send it to me, so then I can set it up on a CT engine..
Sort of plug and play...
PM me if you are interested....

Re: Cleaning Carb Jets
This youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la9UI9FzEFo gives you an idea about stripping down your carb. I will be following these very instructions (starts around 8min 50) as my left hand carb seems to be being starved of fuel but it is certainly being sent to the carb. The solonoid seems to be working when power goes to it so my next step it to check the primary jet and the float.

Hello,
I'm cutting and pasting this from another answer,,
This may help..
Before:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qayyc9Z4E0
After:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsfo5ATgBp0
I shall be doing a full CU rebuild in May, from the crank up.. and will get it all on video
The left hand carb (the master) has various little electrical gadgets on it to help idle and cold start..
IME these little bits rarely work as they should, and there will be perished rubber washers on the air screws..
This is also really good info:

Hope this helps...
