Jets

Post by scarysteve »

For a Solex 34 Pict 4
Been told my jets are not feeding fuel so therefore blocked.
How many jets are there and can you get a replacement kit (where?) or are they easy to clean out?
Maybe been sold a bummer carb? B*****s
As always Cheers

Just two fuel jets they usually sit in the float chamber submersed in fuel
One is primary
One is main
They are set in stone and should not need altering
If they are blocked then clean your carb out
Change the filter and fuel lines.

You also need to know if the pump is pumping fuel.
And if you have any air leaks on the inlet side.

Well the service included 'everything' ie usual servie I guess. I'm no mechanic but you guessed that. The carb is the problem so looking at replkacing the jets and need to know if that is an easy or impossible task. Suppliers etc or DIY. In the past I have used sonic cleaning but the jets have been an issue as so small. Seen a jet cleaning kit similar to bike kits? My vans existence depends on this. Had her two years now and the carb has always been the problem - she has weak heart!
