I have read the link in wiki for flooring. I have bare metal now in my van as it's totally stripped out. The original flooring is up and I'm left with the profiled metal floor.
I want to put vinyl on top of 2.5 ply wood. BUT do I need to drill the floor and bolt the ply to the floor or what? Also should I use any underlay on top or underneath of the ply?
Cheers

Re: Flooring
Do you still have the shaped fillets that were there before? I'd put them back, put down some insulation on top, and then put the board down on top of that. Try to avoid drilling the floor unless you have to - if it's a good fit, the ply sheet is hardly likely to go anywhere. You'll need to fix an lip at the door edge anyway. I would say 2.5mm is not think enough - some people even go for 10mm, though that's probably a bit over the top.
Make sure any new floor is not going to foul your bed mechanism/legs.

I just put a plywood floor in mine to be covered with some sturdy industrial carpet, I used a few self tapping metal screws screwed into carefully placed small pilot holes, if your putting holes in the floor be sure to paint the bare metal, I used a hammerite.
