I need to check mine against this one see is it fits not so keen on the price, I was thinking maybe new tank and bracket to hold it in might be a cheaper option if its possible to that.

I'm guessing that different tank may mean different sized hoses / angles etc unless there is one that's neat similar.

Coolant loss, not too much but enough. I think its a hairline crack that may leak under hot water pressure. Could still be other areas but tests show not much evidence of any leaks. Not taken spare off yet though...

If it helps here is a picture of a 1983 metal cap diesel one fitted. This looks like the Brickwerks one but according to ETKA the 1983 metal cap ones for petrol and diesel have a letter D at the end of the part number not B and there is a thread here suggesting the hose sizes might be different to the 1982 and earlier ones with the B suffix http://www.vwdieselparts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2191 The other thing to check would be if the Brickwerks/Classic Parts ones have the cutout for the level sensor as it is hard to see in the pictures and the 1982 diesel wiring diagrams don't show the sensor present.
