minor leak around coolant sensor - PTFE tape?

Post by discipleofsketch »

I'm trying to diagnose a minor leak around the coolant sensor on my early (metal not dalek cap) diesel. I presume the coolant sensor screws into the tank - is it safe to use PTFE tape on these tanks?

I sealed ours in using silicone sealant ... that worked (until I could get a new sensor & seal)

I've used PTFE on mine, worked fine although mine is the later version if that makes any difference
