Bit of an odd question as there aren't many in the RHD camp but here goes!
Can anyone please tell me where the dash is drilled for the cold start knob on a RHD syncro. I appreciate that the later ones have the trim piece fitted, but a measurement from the edge of the difflock console to the centre of the hole would be really useful, so I can at least put my choke cable in about the correct place!
Also, where does the cable go though the front panel/firewall to loop round under the cab floor and head out back?
Thanks in advance

But the earlier ones that don't have the trim piece are, according to Mr B...that's why I asked, Andrew!
If there's a grommet already in the firewall that's provided for the cable, kindly draw my attention to it's precise location. A photo would be much appreciated to clarify

I have a spare brackety thing and some associated bits if you fancy the original rhd items....cable goes straight out the bulkhead and then follows the water pipes to the back.

Wasn't ...... but my 86 was RHD and it had one and all the ones I've seen had them but we didn't get the diesel version here till 83 and there wasn't too many of them cuz all the pikeys bought HiAces

Now that's more like helpful pm time assuming we're not getting into TD scene tax £££?

On my 83 lhd 2wd the cable did indeed come through the front of the dash, the trim attaches both under and to the front of the dash, as said that was lhd & 2wd though.
Was also a n/a but i doubt it would be different to a TD.
Rob.
hi, ive got a rhd td pickup, ive got the dash out at the moment so i will get some photos at the weekend of the cable route. I think mine is the later type
that fits into the plastic trim on the bottom of the dash, just let me know what measurements you need. cheers warren.
Cheers Wozza, that'll be really useful. I could do with getting the cable hooked up as it needs a bit of pedal dancing first thing in the morning and does splutter without the enrichment, so if I know where the cable comes though the dash (measured to any convenient datums e.g. hole centre to bottom of dash, corner by glovebox?) then I can at least get it threaded through and working.
