Re: does this mean it actualy works
If the flame goes out the thermocouple ceases to work due to lack of heat and thus cuts off the gas supply - that's the point of it.

Re: does this mean it actualy works
Ok thanks guys i have saved all the advice and will go through it all and see whats what with the fridge. Seeing as it might be working on gas has made me think mabe it might work on the 12volt or maybe even the hook up as the previous owner never even looked at it or tried it, he just took the word of the guy he bought it from. Ill try and find the wires and where they go to and see if it may be fuses or need new wires.

some people say to turn the fridge upside down for a while and then back on its feet. I have never done it but at apparently works.

If it is working fine on one fuel source turning it upside has no effect - the idea of doing so is to remix the refrigerant that has settled into its constituent parts due to non-use. RTFM as usual.

Re: does this mean it actualy works
Some of the best information comes from the manufacturers manuals - it makes sense to use said information. If only people would take the trouble to read them there wouldn't be so many inane questions and half-baked answers.

Where does it say it is working on one fuel source?

Might is the word in that sentence that stands out to me. It is one thing getting the gas to light but another to get the fridge cold.
Come on, I know you never make presumptions

Re: does this mean it actualy works
Numerous people on this forum have told people to turn their fridges upside down when they are working on one power source. They also go against the manufacturers instructions saying do it for an hour or so then try. I am purely stating it yet again before these 'fixes' appear not as a direct result of a previous post - if you note that I have not quoted a post that stated that this was the case here. Normally the point would be quoted so that it is clear to the reader as to exactly what post/part of post is being responded to.

Sorry. Took it a bit personaly.
If it would stop breaking down it would be nice
