Re: Temp sender wiring
Put the old one in the kettle and is opened no problem, so I tried that in the van. The new one which I removed I chucked in the kettle and it hardly opened so I thought I had it nailed! Nearly, the gauge now sits a bit lower than before but still between half and three quarters when the fan comes in and brings it back down to just above half
I've ordered a sender from euro to try that tomorrow and see what the result is.

Thats probably not far off whats right, the needle is the width of the LED and mine sits with the LH edge of the needle on the RH edge of the LED normally, when in traffic it creeps up before the fan cuts in and brings it down.
ask 10 T3 owners whee the needle sits and you get 10 answers.
As said before never assume a new part can't be faulty.

Think you're right, I just need to chill out. Took it for a good run today and let it idle for a while when I got back. Fan on and off a few times, just need to get used to the new needle position.

Re: Temp sender wiring
you were right to be worried, keep an eye on it for a while, air in the system can also cause incorrect readings.
