Internal paintwork - touching up

Post by DevonMark »

I would like to touch up the internal bodywork (were exposed) to continue freshening up the inside of Victor.

Does anyone have any tips as to how to go about this? Is it necessary to use Hammerite or similar rust-preventing paint? I want to do this with the least of fuss (ie not spending hours rubbing the current paint off), so would it be OK just to paint over what is currently there?

Any tips appreciated. :ok

I would think the same you would use fo the outside may be best? Rustoleum?

My understanding though is that if you don't rid the metal of any rust, it will come back quickly no matter what you put over it.

OK, thanks.

To be honest it's not really too rusty, just looking quite tired in places.

I just bought a shot blaster from Aldi for a tenner, I know a few of the guys have said how great they are for cleaning away rust ready for painting. I haven't used it yet though so I cant comment.

Sorry just realised you mean actually behind the bodywork, not the internal painted surfaces in the cab...

No I do mean the internal painted surfaces.

Just to help with freshening up the inside (cosmetic), nothing drastic.
