Scat spring loaded pushrod tubes...heeellp!

Post by MarkG »

Hiya I have just bought the scat spring loaded pushrod tubes for my 1600ct engine. The larger end seals seem to fit a bit loose on the tube (whereas the smaller end fit fine) and don't want to fit them for the oil to p***s out everywhere still .Can anybody tell me if these is supposed to be the case as the company I got them from aren't open today and really want to get the engine back in before I forget... Cheers

haven't fitted scat ones , but have normal ones.

seals should be a tight fit each end!

is the tube opening the one end larger than the other or do you just have larger seals for one end?

ct and watercooled dg/dg use similar tubes/ different from all others

Hello,

Telescopic pushrod tubes for a 1600 CT ...

Hmmm......

IIRC these are a site dearer than , for example these:

http://www.serial-kombi.com/tubes-envel ... 12623.html

Beware, these motors have the same sort of pushrod tube as the bay/beetle. except that the engine end is bigger, requiring bigger seals, all on the above site..

Telescopics save you having to drop the head.. ok, but I have never found them reliable..

This might help:

and

All on a CT engine..

There is no reason why these engines should not be completely oil tight..

Have fun...

Cordialement,

its the tube that needs changing if the seal is loose?
have you an old original tube to compare too?

the new tubes should have different size holes at each end.
