bleeding system without heater working

Post by nostalgic »

Hi all yet another one for you,
my vans in the garage at the mo having a few bits done, thing is it needs bleeding but the heater blower does not work so the garage is having trouble bleeding it as it seems you need the swith on and all working to do the job. Not realy wishing to get all the dash out and do it all just yet so is there a way to bleed it properly without the blower etc working sorry this is so long winded but i cant think how to shorten it down. Thanks for any help nostagic.o

The switch doesn't affect how the water circulates. If your garage thinks that I would be looking for another garage!!
The switch/blower only moves air over the matrix. They are talking through their a*ses.

Worth just clarifying that slightly...

The fan switch doesn't affect how the water circulates. (nor do the up/down airflow sliders)
But the hot/cold slider does - and should be on full hot whenever the coolant's drained/filled/bled. Same for the rear heater if there's one fitted.

<grin> If everybody that asked promised to buy a copy, I think we'd be high on the Sunday Times bestseller's list... But in reality? I don't think there's a market - there's enough others, and I think we've written all we can write for the blog.

Ah, but then you get into the whole argument of whether it'd be CET3K or CET25K...?
