Hmm, wel i would go with what you know, the bod forget it as you have a confirmed vdo reading
1/2 bar at idle should suffice, not brilliant but should be ok , as you know thicker oil will give a higher reading
pump seems to be working as your readings show it to, yes it may have wear but more likely to be the mains, these have a greaterimpact on oil pressure than other items. ends may also have some wear but you tend to hear it more from them ,
if its running sweet then you either live with it and short the bod to earth (did mine 3 years ago after first checking with wet gauge), or pull it and do the bottom end.
if you dont hear the btm end rattling away then its unlikely to let go, more a case of wear increasing and this will be shown by oil pressure decreasing over the coming months/miles
hope it helps

Earth the brown wire that goes to the sensor by the water pump.

Best to cut and splice into it where you can get at it, rather than try and remove the connector on the sensor
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

My sender is now on top of the motor via the remote t- piece ... Can I sort the buzzer but still keep the sender for the o/p gauge working???

Well you're not touching the sensor, just earthing the wire that goes to it

I take it this T piece is connected to a 100% metal pipe to the original sensor hole in the block ?

Yes absolutely , a braided steel hose to a t-piece.
So tap into the wire and just put that to earth??

Correct

I was asking about the pipe being all metal as if it wasn't there would be no earth for the sensor and that would make the BOD go off
