Right, I tried and tried but just couldn't get it in, just too big for my setup. Did loosen the bolts on the seat and move backwards but no use.

Here its stuck on the lip of the seat base,

So decision made, went off to get the angle grinder, its been a bit lonely recently since I have not been working on the Bay :)

Image

Trimmed it off completely, there is wood behind it for reinforcement anyway so no sharp edges.

Image

Even with the lip trimmed off it was VERY tight to get in but did go.

Lid even fits!

So got there in the end and looks quite tidy. I think my swivel bases have been attached a bit further back than some of the others as even with that extra metal cut out it only just went, maybe?

More pics if anyone needs them and many thanks to all of you for your help and comments :D

So to the next problem, why do non of the electrics work...... Where's me multimeter.

Thats all very confusing as the only dimention that is common to all these different batteries is the width 'front to back' of (175mm) so I really can't understand why this should be different on your box....

That looks very much like a home made box to me. It's certainly not standard with wood anywhere, least not on mine anyway. :?

Someone has put a wooden block on the back of the battery box to hide some wiring. The internals look standard.

I agree that it should have gone in unmodified so I think we need to get to the bottom of this. I'll get some measurements tomorrow.

I have called them to try to clear up what is going on, when they sent me the battery out they had 90 amp ones in stock, 310x175x175 @ 90 Amp - They get this one in from time to time, they dont have any at the moment. I did ask how often but they just said when they're available....

They currently have 310x175x190 @90 amp and 278x175x175 @80 amp

Hope this clears things up a bit.

The number is: 01706 356 356

So you can get 90 amp batteries with these dimensions just not everyday it seems.

Martin was this aimed at me? If so it was Tayna, but, I had a bit of a battle with them as they sent out a stock item that was 190mm height as they had misread my initial communication to them. It was all resolved amicably when they sent out the right one and only asked 30 quid postage (to Spain) and I got to keep the original oversized item (too much hassle to get it sent back from Spain, Dangerous good act and all that good stuff)\
Over all, very good customer service for that end result but did take a few emails back and forth!
Oh and mine was a 100Ahc deep discharge job!

Jon

PS I'm sure I detailed this in another post previously.
