indicator flasher unit

Post by nostalgic »

Hi all ok i know someone in the great somewhere must have asked this before.but me being me cant find it.my indicators have stoped working the fuses all ok and the hazards are all working the green warning light comes on and flashes with hazards but when i put indicators on the light comes on but nothing from the flashers. When the indicators and hazards are off the warning light glows a tiny bit.it seems to me and from the manual that the flasher unit is gone. Now heres the thing where the hell is the flasher unit.ive looked every where but cant find it. Any help would be great thanks nostalgic.

If the flasher unit had gone, the hazards wouldn't flash.

Could well be the hazard switch itself.

99% of the time this is caused by a poor/corroded earth somewhere in the circuit. I've seen it with fuses that look intact but aren't and also corroded terminals in fusebox. Honestly I'd start there. Flasher units tend to outlive vans in my experience.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Indicators and hazards all working fine now. Hazard switch still not lighting up so ill look at the earth wires, ill see if i can run another earth from somewhere and see if that will work. Now just got to work out why it keeps over heating its up the garage at the mo looks like the head gasket has blown, mind you that would probably explain it, its been bled five times and still it over heats ill find out in the next couple of days. :run
