SYNCRO QUESTIONS>>>>

Post by julian Robinson »

Hello!

Just a few quick questions!

Do people often remove the Front to rear prop shaft? Are there any good reasons to? other than fuel economy? or is it likely there is a problem with the front box?

Are 1.6TD Westy Syncros sought after?

Are prop shafts available?

I know my way round a T25... What should I look out for Syncro wise?

Thanks!

The propshaft will have been removed because something is fooked - almost guaranteed. It will have been fooked probably by running unevenly worn tyres.

Is any LHD 1.6TD van sought after?

Various people on here have bought props from GKN, the spec may even be in the wiki - £2-300.

Look out for bodywork, as ever.

I thought we were talking about prop's clive.
The truthe is a 1.6td westy syncro is very slow and suffers badly on
hills. It is a heavy van with the roof and interiour.
Are they sought after? well that depends. There are quite a few of them about and it is not uncomon to find some for sale. The high top is the
hardest to find.Condition and history also plays a big role in this.
I have never come across a prop that has been removed for any other reason than a problem somewhere.
