Hi Adam, there are (apparently) 2 types ... I bought one from Heritage which is a screw-in type, when I got in to the pump though my pump had no threads to screw into I manufactured a slide hammer from threaded rod, a rawl bolt and several nuts and washers. Worked a treat

Hi Ian,Just been down to see the van,me mates got the bits off, theres no threads in(im guessing its the hole in the pump where the gear goes),i have a sliding hammer with attachments, similar to raw bolts(tho the one that would fit is missing, typical),im guesing you took the back box off etc.To give you a bit more room?,me mates a bit reluntant to take more bits off.Theres plenty of room, but proberly not enough to get a raw bolt in,etc.Im pressuming its the hole in the pump body where you pull it from .Thanks Adam

Yep, I did. I'd also be checking the engine mounts while I was in there too

Yep, that's the way I did it.

Cheers, Ian.

Remember, you should not re-use the pump mounting bolts (for some reason ?).

The pump does not have mounting bolts, it has studs and (allegedly) non-re-usable sealing nuts.

Adam I re-used our's just put a blob of Blue Hylomar on each one as I fastened it up ... I believe it's to stop the oil running up the thread (?) and that never leaked As I said before the Heritage puller didn't fit my DG oil pump

Wasser boxers use the later Type 1 oil pump. The puller T piece fits into the oil galleries.
