Audi 16inch Alloys, tyres size change

Post by brandygangster »

Hi Guys

I have a set of Audi alloys which are running on 205/55/16. I want to change tyres to something a bit more reinforced. It seems 215/60/16 come with a better of load ratings, are these a suitable size or are there any other recommendations.

Thanks Kev

Also seen some T25's running on 215/65/16, 4x4 tyres, they look pretty good prices and even bigger weigh bearing walls.

I'm looking for something similar.

I have GM 16" 7j rims with 225/50 tyres. I'm looking for a 4x4 tyre for the rear (fedup getting stuck in fields esp Santa pod) and something suitable for the fronts. My speedo has a constant over read of 10% i.e. speedo reads 70mph but I'm doing 63, 40 is really 36.

I was thinking of using 215 70 16s?

My van's tyre plate states wheel size is 205/70r14 which is circ 2017mm
I have 225/50r16 which is circ 1985mm (-1.6%)
new size 215/70r16 is circ 2224mm (+10.2%)

Does this size work on my 7j rims?
Any suggestions for cheap off road tyres for pushing my van out of mud without defening?
