help can i fit power steering to t25

Hi decided to fit power steering to chuggs as the wife wants to drive it as well and isnt quite as strong in the arm as her better half!. thats if possible Im told it is, its a 1600D 1982 manual 4 speed box water cooled, any info would be pleased of as I dont want too trade the wife in as would more expensive

I was researching this myself the other day, Ultimate engineering here in Bristol do a kit and fitting:-

WHS^^^ the best mod I have ever done to my camper
1985 hi-top 2.1MV with DG carb and LPG
1955 trials buggy with 1.9 DG high lift cam and twin dell's (now sold)
1972 1303 beetle
1992 Audi 100 2.8 quattro estate
1967 Vw  Madison kit

And therein lies the problem....

Original power steering taken from one T25 and put on another...No Problem! as it was homoligated (crash tested and passed construction and use regulations)

Aftermarket systems like 'ultimate engineerings' system are good but in the event of an accident may leave you exposed to insurance being void (you need to talk to UE to find out if this is the case).
Then there is self build/modified......Vauxhall Corsa electric columns being the most popular, these can be modified to fit. This will definately leave you exposed if there was cause to examine you vehicle after an accident.

Hi all, is it a straight forward job to fit the power steering parts from one T3 to another, I have a donor van with PS, I never seen the donor van or drove it so dont know how well everything worked. Are there parts in the power steering that are liable to be goosed?

So while you can, refurbish as much as you can.
