Slider window, swap fixed type for opening ?

Post by ghost123uk »

Hi all, anyone know how easy it is to source and fit an opening type sliding door window to our van, currently with a non opening window ? It's an 89 LeisureDrive. Not sure if they had factory glass or not ?

That was a panel van, the window will be a odd size !
I have two leisuredrive vans in my fleet and both have different size windows in the sliding door ( and all the others)
Been down this route several times , but if you measure the window I have a sliding window or two in my stores , if you are very lucky one maybe the right size!

It is definitely easier to swap to a door with a sliding window already fitted

Cheers Steve, measurement =

The "visible" part of the glass, ie up to where it disappears into the rubber is 101.6 cm X 36.8 cm. The rubber itself is 2.8cm wide. I wonder if that is enough information

Aye, but then I would have to factor in a couple of hundred quid in paint and decal

from what i have herd one of the camper conversion co's fitted windows that were the same as factory size!

i know its not the autohomes tho , as mine are way larger!

also have a look see if it the same as the one the other size.

usually the windows , factory and aftermarket can be stripped and reversed easily .so you would only need to find another leisure drive one- i have done this a few times!

you will prob need to refurb the new one anyhow , especially with the slamming of the slider!

altenativly anything larger than the hole you have obviously would just mean a trim !

Why do you want to do the opposite ? (out of curiosity)
Why gutted ?
Why not do a swap with mine ? (if same size) I don't imagine Steve would mind
