That was weird: Door & windown content

Post by col.decker »

I've had an issue with our passenger door lock. Basically it was jammed shut. I tried oiling the key, wiggling it, forcing it, and swearing at it. All had no effect. Then I happened to un-wind the window to adjust the mirror and I felt something give.

Now the door unlocks & locks with ease.

That's a bit weird ain't it :?:

Nope....not at all :rofl

Anyway - whip your door card off - remember everything behind is all mechanical and levers..My guess is that the window guide was stopping the rod from lowering the lock...therefore making the lock "stick". Unwind the window, the carrier went down, the rod pinged back into place, and you can unlock the door. My or may not happen again....tis the way with the VW...
