Windscreen stone chip!!!!!!

Hello,
Whilst en route to see Steve at Gassure to get a carb refurb a damn Morrisons truck flicked up a large stone and put a big chip in the windscreen.
I looked at getting the chip repaired but it's only 4cm from the edge of the screen and auto windscreens say it has to be 6cm from an edge!!!!!!!!
My insurance does not cover me for some reason for repairs.
Does anyone know the cost of a new front windscreen on a 1983 dg panel van?
I assume it's worth while changing the seal at the same time.
Not having much luck with Albert the camper.

Our windscreen guys down here do a new fitted screen for around £100 or if you want the top tint £120 fitted

Albert get a genuine seal too from volkswagenemporium and expect to need some 'welding' work done if the window frame has rotted under the seal
