My camper has Rover 25s I don't know how easy they were to fit as they were already fitted but plenty of choice.

Porsche tombstones are a very good fit and quite easy/simple to do.

Drill out spot welds on the rails and take T3 rails out, porsche ones them weld or bolt in place (using bolts of suitable tensile strength)

Quite straight forward job :ok

if you drill the spotwelds out you will end up with loads of small holes in the floor of your van and the floor losing half its strength especially on the wheel arch side , your better of getting 2 genuine vw swivel seat plates bolt them into your van through the original runners , and then remove the runners of the top of the seat plates , then just drill new holes to match your new seats , that way the seats sit the right height and if you decide to sell van, you can just re install the original seats and it looks like its never been altered

I had saab leather seats (which was NOT a straightforward swap, some fettling competence is required as per my wiki entry) but I too hated the high position even with the drivers seat height adjustment mechanism removed. They were comfy but I always hated that I had about 1 inch between my thighs and the steering wheel and the pedals were further away.

Swapped them out for some captains seats via the wanted ads where a nice forum member offered my some great seats at a 'forum' price 8)
