Smoking Eberspacher HELP

Post by trucker »

Hi, I've just serviced my Eber because it was smoking and randomly cutting out. I have changed the glowplug, thermal switches both the collapsed fresh air intake and silenced combustion intake pipes and given it a good clean.
Still smoking and cut out after an hour there seems to be unburnt fuel dripping out of the exhaust, I have turned the fuel pump down (I think) by turning the 10mm 3/4 of a turn inwards but I don't know if this is enough or am I barking up the wrong tree? also does the fuel line have to be up hill all the way from the pump to the heater? Mine is a factory fitted one and it doesn't appear to have been played with (until now) any suggestions would be very gratefully received. :ok

Not sure if it helps, i just got my eber going again after it not working for years, was a broken wire inside the eber. Anyhow mine is a diesel D2L version and once i got it going mine also smoked a lot. I left it running for around half an hour and seemed to sort the problem. May be mine was un-burnt fuel or years of "pooh" and dust in there. May be firing it up and leaving for a while may sort the issue!!
