The Projektzwo kit was tested in VW's own wind tunnel reducing the CD of a standard van from 0.46 to 0.42.

This was for the front skirt and sides. I'm not sure the roof spoiler was part of the contributory package.

The complete system (front skirt, side skirts, roof spoiler, wider wheels and lowering kit) would certainly be a huge improvement over a standard van. Better MPG, crosswind stability and handling.

Thankfully I have a very warm, spacious and aerodynamic high top then.. not a cold parachute tent on top of my van or top that has an ice cream on it

Harsh Kev. We both have aerodynamic bricks. With two people on board we pop the top down at night and heat the van. That way you have less space to heat than a high top and you keep snug. Simples.

I think the high top v pop top debate will run for about as long as the LPG v diesel saga......

It would be good if we could all embrace our differences

Edited for harmony...

And a shame that some can't resist a silly little reference that starts the debate ball rolling.

Whatever ......

Maybe I should just conform to the popular 80-90 view that pop tops are a faff and cold and lack store age and that diesels are slow...noisy....and dirty.
And that westies are sterile characterless and overpriced.....(I think westy tax is the in vogue term)

Everyone should be happy then.

Well.....apart from people with diesel westy pop tops......

No offence meant or taken

But heavy oil burners DO sound like tractors and westies DO cost more.. because they are better equipped, yes, but that's the added tax.

:D

Don't really think its fair to pick and choose which bits you object to though

Your average modern tractor is as mechanically refined as your average modern diesel car. Common rail injection, DMFs, variable vane turbos, the lot. All a bit more sophisticated than the JX and friends... Let's be honest, the Mk2 Golf diesel was never particularly refined, even by contemporary standards 25 years ago.
