actuator refresh

Post by axeman »

removed the actuator yesterday to start to free up the rear diff lock, hopefully oil is working its way arounf the pin, when i removed the actuator the section above the roll pin had rusted away inside the protruding pin, ohhh bugger thats another £50 down the drain, or so i thought. i made a call to all things gearbox related (aidan) as i would also need the protective plastic and rubber collar for the actuator pin. he surgested that i try and refurb the actuator and sent down a used diaphragm. so here is a couple of pics to show you how its done, thanks to aidan for sending down the parts so quickly

actuator and the replacement diaphragm, you can make out what has snaped on the actuator

insert the new diaphragm and clip back together. did the obligatory suck on the tubes and its working as it
should,

just got to drill out the remains of the old pin and roll pin, then free off the pin and reinstall it with the
new protective slaving. along with the new gear linkage bushes.
