pre ownership question

Post by WADDI »

Hi everyone.

I dont own a T25 yet but looking to sell my current 51plate astra and replace it will a LPG daily runner T25 panel van/custom camper.

What would I be best buying as a starting point. A petrol, deisel, turbo diesel etc. bigger or small engine capacity eg 1600 or 2.0L etc?

As I said, I would run daily on LPG but need a backup for emergency.

also does LPG effect insurance premiums?

please check, but don't think diesel converts to LPG.....

2.1 goes nicely though, as does the 2.0 Aircooled (both petrol)

As for history - bought van with shed load of history, last 15 years MOT, and new 12 month MOT.
Engine was sha**ed and needed replacing.

Bought another van with no history and no MOT, looked a right state.....bin sat for 2 years...needed a bulb and blade for MOT. Leaky puch rod seals came to light - could have been done, but changed to a second hand 2.1 again with no hsitory, and it runs lovely!

Luck of the draw, really
2.1 DJ 1990 Caravelle (died and gone to heaven)
2.0 AGG (1997 ish) 1984 transporter LPG

Stev Shaw did both my conversions it only takes one day you can find Stev on the forum,or his work shop near Chester or take a look at www.gasure.co.uk we went away last week and on a 90mile run got 30mpg every day running around about 25 to 28mpg.
