1984 1.9 litre petrol Digijet ECU owners help please!!

Hello everyone,

we're having what i'm told is rather a rare problem with the ECU on our van. It's currently at a specialist T25 garage but they're having a few problems diagnosing the fault and we were wondering if anyone with experience of our Digijet fuel injection system had any new ideas.

This is a summary of the problem as described by our mechanic friend:

We know that it is an electronic problem. If we trick the ECU (computer) into thinking that the engine is cold then it runs fine but of course once the engine is hot then the amount of fuel going into the engine is far too much. So you might think it is the temperature switch but we have fitted several to no effect.

The problem seems to be the amount of fuel getting into the cylinders is not being regulated properly. There are a few components that are involved in this regulation and the simplest way is just to change them all one at a time and see what happens. Unfortunately one of the components is the ECU and yours has lost all its markings. There were a few different ones fitted and we don't know which one yours is.

Could any owners of our engine please supply the part number for the ECU so i can source a used one?

Also has anyone wiith our engine had simillar problems?
