What if you stick with 14 inch wheels?

Are there any decent tyres available in that size? Currently running 205/80/14 with Kumho KL78 tyres, but can't find replacements anywhere. Was going to buy 15 inch Mefros and BFGs, but finances are a bit stretched at present. I don't really NEED off road tyres. Any suggestions?

205R14Cs can be had, Khumo857 road tyres are readily available and I recently got nice Yokohama 354 Winter tyres, but ATs or MTs in 14" have become almost impossible to find now - it's an old size so little demand though BFG are showing the 27/850R14 (95S) ALL TERRAIN T/A KO as available again try calling tyremen 08456 807 808 and see if they do actually have them cos they are advertising them at £78 each inc vat which is a great deal

It's 215/75R15, this is a useful site I've used with a built in calculator about 3/4 of the way down on page 1:

Page 4 of the site has a calculator that allows you to calculate the difference between your old and new tyre size.

I had given some thought to the idea of keeping the 14" wheels originally, but couldn't find anywhere to get anything decent from, so ended up with 15" Mefros and 205/75R15 General Grabbers.

It can't convert to 215/75/15, because they're 14 inch tyres.

Ooops, sorry... that's a typo on my part, I meant 215/75R14, check it out on the link I put up. It works out as a minus 0.8% difference from the 205/80R14 tyres if that's what you've currently got fitted.

I called Tyremen on that number, but they didn't know anything about the tyre at all. It's not listed under their Goodrich tyres, and they couldn't link the tyre shown online to anything in their product lists. They have taken my mobile number and will give me a call if they find anything, but as far as they are aware, Goodrich doesn't make 14 tyres in an AT type. Weird - wonder how that got there?
So that sort of brings me back to my original question. What tyres do you buy if you're running 14 inch wheels? We can't all have gone over to 15 inchers, surely?

185r14.. or 205r14
plenty of tyres out there in those sizes...
Or you can use 205/70r14.. this was an option.. will lower gearing slightly from the 205r14.. and have to be carefull to get the load ratings.. but a few options in there.. Nexan rodian AT.. should give a bit of all weather traction over a "summer" tyre...

If you want all weather capability then fit the winter tyres and run all year round.. I have a set of Semperit vangrip on mine and run all year round for last 6 years.. been good.. perform well in all weather conditions and have lasted well too.. now due for replacement and I have a nice set of Carat alloys so will go for a set of 205r14 as this will raise the gearing a fraction and look good.. I have a set of merc steels with "mudders" on for the offroad stuff.. the "winters" have done all i could ask of them for the last years..

I wanted to get a set of AT's in 215/75r14, but they are not available even on special order in UK or europe so I have found..
BFG used to do the AT's in the "imperial" size.. but havent been available for a long time... it was a size used in the USA on smaller ford/mazda pickups..

Load rating should be what? C for commercial?

Pref a "C" (185/205 will only be in "C") but anything with a load rating of 97+ (205/70 can be for a normal car too you see)

Maxxis do quite a few different tyres in 205/r14 .... like this

They also do a 215/75/14 .......

I was looking to buy a name I recognised, though I can see there's money to be saved buying other makes. Anyone use any of these more obscure brands?
